The annual Uswitch awards were recently presented at an elegant ceremony in London’s Canary Wharf, revealing some unexpected winners. A panel of esteemed judges, including Mirror Online’s Technology Editor and input from the public, determined the recipients, showcasing a mix of renowned and lesser-known brands. Notably, smaller, value-oriented mobile networks emerged victorious in the 2026 Uswitch rankings.
VOXI, Tesco Mobile, Lebara, and giffgaff excelled in various categories, securing accolades such as Mobile Network of the Year, Best Mobile Network for Customer Service, and Best Mobile Network for Roaming. Surprisingly, EE clinched the title for National Broadband Provider of the Year, despite its mobile-centric reputation.
In the broadband sector, EE was joined by YouFibre, Plusnet, Vodafone, and Virgin Media as winners in various categories. Ernest Doku, a telecoms expert at Uswitch, emphasized the evolving consumer focus on maximizing value rather than just seeking the lowest prices.
The winners reflect a shift towards providers that offer more comprehensive services. Uswitch’s Telecoms Awards aim to guide customers in finding the best deals aligned with their specific needs, whether prioritizing affordability or other criteria. The 2026 winners signify a market trend towards quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction in telecommunications services.
