Virgin Media has unveiled a major enhancement to its TV platform, offering customers a trio of bonus channels at no extra cost. This upgrade, powered by Rakuten, introduces three new FAST channels featuring additional drama, comedy, and sci-fi content.
The new channels include Rakuten TV Drama on Ch462, showcasing popular movies like The Big Short and JFK. Rakuten TV Comedy on Ch463 offers beloved comedies such as Big Momma’s House and The Internship. For sci-fi enthusiasts, Rakuten TV: Sci Fi on Ch464 presents a range of content from otherworldly realms.
Customers using Virgin TV 360 and Flex will automatically receive these new channels, with no action required. The channels are easily accessible through Virgin Media’s TV guide and can be found using voice control.
David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed excitement about the addition of these streaming channels, highlighting the diverse entertainment options now available to customers, all consolidated in one place. With this update, Virgin TV users now have access to a total of 40 FAST channels, including popular ones like British Screen Classics and Inside Crime.
While a subscription fee is necessary for Virgin Media TV access, the channel lineup now offers a richer selection compared to free services.
