Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s highly anticipated arrival in England was parodied on the latest episode of “Saturday Night Live UK” with a cool British reception. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were satirized during the Season 2 premiere of the late-night show.
The skit, lasting four minutes and 52 seconds, targeted various aspects of the couple, including their Netflix deal, Meghan’s television projects, and the ongoing controversies surrounding race within the Royal Family.
The sketch opened with actors portraying Harry and Meghan visiting King Charles and Queen Camilla at a mock-up of Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The fictional interaction showcased King Charles expressing displeasure at their unexpected visit, emphasizing that the castle is reserved for royals only.
Charles then humorously criticized the couple’s financial situation and post-royal endeavors, poking fun at their Netflix contract, which reportedly ended in 2025. The skit highlighted Harry joking about the $60 million Netflix deal and its duration, eliciting laughter from the audience.
The segment also lampooned Meghan’s Netflix projects, including the docuseries “Harry & Meghan” and her lifestyle show “With Love, Meghan,” where she promoted her brand, As Ever, featuring jams, teas, and honeys. The sketch playfully mocked Meghan’s attempt to position herself as a lifestyle expert.
The parody didn’t shy away from referencing the couple’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, alluding to the discussions around Prince Archie’s skin color. The skit comically depicted Camilla addressing Meghan’s skin tone, adding a satirical touch to the scene.
Additionally, the sketch transitioned into a spoof of Britain’s new prime minister, Andy Burnham, with the focus shifting to his desire to appear as a “regular guy” while Harry and Meghan engaged in their own world in the background.
Prince Harry, Meghan, and their two children recently returned to the U.K. from the United States, where they are expected to reside privately outside London. Although the reason for their relocation remains undisclosed, reports suggest that their children have already started attending British schools.
The satirical portrayal on “Saturday Night Live UK” added a comedic twist to the royal couple’s return to England, capturing the attention of viewers with its witty take on current events.
