Paultons Park has offered a preview of its upcoming Valgard: Realm of the Vikings area, a £12 million venture set to launch later this spring.
Known for being home to Peppa Pig World, which has been highly popular among young children and families, the Hampshire-based park is expanding its appeal with the new land targeting teenagers and adults, solidifying its status as a hub for thrill-seeking enthusiasts.
Scheduled to debut on Saturday, May 16, Valgard: Realm of the Vikings will introduce Drakon, the park’s inaugural inverting rollercoaster, featuring a vertical lift hill and two inversions for an exhilarating experience. The ride’s interior showcases the vehicles, complemented by dry ice and subdued lighting, enhancing the ride’s ambiance.
Among the new attractions is Vild Swing, a ride propelling riders 12 meters into the air while spinning around. A teaser video exhibits the construction progress of the ride and on-ride footage, offering a glimpse of the exciting experience awaiting visitors.
Additionally, a revamped ride within the Viking-themed world, formerly known as Cobra, will reemerge as Raven, a bobsled adventure tailored to fit the Viking motif.
For younger guests, a Viking-themed playground awaits, and a new Feasting Hall restaurant provides an immersive dining experience akin to Viking traditions.
Lawrence Mancey, Paultons Park’s marketing and technology director, expressed excitement about the progress made on the Valgard project, emphasizing the immersive and action-packed experience it promises for families.
In addition to Valgard, Paultons Park features six themed worlds, including Tornado Springs, inspired by Midwestern America, and the dinosaur-themed Lost Kingdom, popular across all age groups.
Tickets for Paultons Park can be conveniently booked online, starting at £46.75 per person. Guests can also opt for a short break through the park’s website, offering a second day free and accommodation options at nearby hotels for a complete family getaway.
