Princess Beatrice and her spouse Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are reportedly contemplating a move that would prevent Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from visiting them. Beatrice, aged 37, is facing significant personal challenges due to the scrutiny surrounding her parents’ connections to Jeffrey Epstein. Consequently, she and her sister Princess Eugenie will not be part of the Easter gathering with King Charles and the rest of the royal family, although they did celebrate Christmas together last year.
Recent reports suggest that Beatrice and Edoardo are planning to leave their current residence in the Cotswolds for a fresh start in the United States, a decision that experts believe will distance them further from Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Tom Sykes, a royal journalist, pointed out that such a move would make it difficult for their parents to visit them, particularly with the possibility of Congress wanting them to testify.
Edoardo, who works as a property developer, also owns a property in New York City. The couple’s choice to consider relocating is seen as a strategic move to avoid being in the spotlight amid the ongoing controversies surrounding the York family. Despite having settled in the Cotswolds recently with their two children, Sienna, aged four, and Athena, aged one, Beatrice and Edoardo had previously lived in an apartment at St James Palace in central London.
Both Beatrice and Eugenie were mentioned in the latest batch of Epstein files released by the US State Department earlier this year. Their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, were removed of their royal titles by King Charles in October last year. While there are no allegations of misconduct against Beatrice and Eugenie, their father has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Outside of the UK, Edoardo’s family owns the historic Villa Mapelli Mozzi estate in Italy, which has been in their possession since the 13th century. Recent revelations from documents released by the US Department of Justice shed light on Sarah Ferguson’s past association with Epstein, showcasing her admiration for him in email correspondences and her requests for financial assistance.
