“Labour Exposes Farage’s Deceptive Working-Class Image”

Date:

Labour has launched a significant advertising campaign accusing Nigel Farage of deceitfully posing as a supporter of working-class individuals. Anna Turley, Chair of the Labour Party, stated that the campaign aims to unveil Reform’s legislative history to voters and caution against the potential repercussions of Farage gaining influence.

In the midst of the local election fervor, Labour’s advertising van initiative, named ‘Not on your side’, will spotlight Reform’s unfavorable parliamentary track record and public declarations. It will emphasize instances where Mr. Farage and Reform MPs opposed the pivotal Employment Rights Bill.

The Employment Rights Bill, enacted in late 2025, encompasses various provisions such as enhancing sick pay entitlements and prohibiting contentious “fire and rehire” practices. Reform has committed to repealing this law and introducing new safeguards for renters through a proposed “great repeal act” if they secure power.

Additionally, Labour’s campaign will draw attention to Reform’s opposition to the implementation of the Online Safety Act, which includes crucial safeguards for minors on the internet. The Act mandates tech companies to implement age verification tools, regulate harmful algorithms, and eliminate objectionable content.

Furthermore, the advertising effort will criticize Reform for voting against the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, hindering the expansion of free school breakfast clubs in primary schools.

Turley remarked, “Nigel Farage is a complete charlatan, claiming to champion the working class while obstructing Labour’s essential reforms for a fairer Britain. If Reform were in power, families nationwide would lack crucial cost-of-living support.”

She added, “Today, Labour reveals the truth: Farage’s attempts to deceive working people cannot be masked by staged photo opportunities in pubs.”

The escalation of the local elections clash follows a recent warning from analysts that Labour could lose more than 1,000 council seats in the upcoming crucial elections in May. They suggested that this number could even surpass 2,000 based on the party’s declining voter support in recent council by-elections.
