“Police in Rochdale Enforce 48-Hour Dispersal Order”

Date:

Police in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, have implemented a 48-hour dispersal order due to concerns about potential disorder involving groups of young people. The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) introduced this measure to address recent incidents of anti-social behavior in Rochdale town center. The order is effective from 11:30 am on Thursday until 11:30 am on Saturday.

Recent instances of anti-social behavior, attributed to online influences according to a Metropolitan Police detective, have resulted in the arrest of six teenage girls in south London. Youth gatherings in Clapham and Birmingham have led to disturbances, prompting authorities to take action.

GMP’s Inspector Meena Yasin stated that the dispersal order aims to safeguard individuals and businesses by curbing anti-social behavior. Officers will be actively patrolling the town center during the 48-hour period to ensure a safe environment for the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend.

In a separate incident, the Metropolitan Police arrested three teenage girls in Clapham for theft and assault, adding to the ongoing efforts to address anti-social behavior in various areas.
