A new Minecraft-themed attraction called Minecraft World is set to open at Chessington World of Adventures in 2027. The project, a collaboration between Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios, will bring elements from the popular game into a physical theme park for the first time.
The immersive land will showcase iconic biomes, mobs, and items from Minecraft, offering visitors a unique experience. While the concept of a Minecraft theme park had been known, the exact location at Chessington World of Adventures has only recently been disclosed.
Minecraft World will introduce new attractions such as a thrilling coaster, interactive adventures, block-built playscapes, and themed retail and dining options. Angela Jobson, SVP of global brand at Merlin Entertainments, expressed excitement about the project, highlighting the opportunity for families and friends to engage in creative and adventurous activities on a grand scale.
The park promises that the rides will embody the essence of Minecraft, with ongoing work to transform the area into the designated Minecraft zone. Torfi Frans Ólafsson, senior creative director of Entertainment at Minecraft, emphasized the significance of this collaboration in expanding the Minecraft universe and creating an immersive experience for fans.
Chessington, a short train ride from London Waterloo, will also feature the World of PAW Patrol in spring 2026, offering various themed rides and attractions for young visitors. The new additions at Chessington provide a sneak peek into the exciting experiences awaiting guests at the theme park.
