In Ontario, the average wait time for ultrasounds is approximately four weeks, as reported by the Fraser Institute. The province’s sonographer vacancy rate was 20% in 2024, contributing to the delays in scheduling appointments. However, pregnant individuals are typically prioritized for obstetric ultrasounds to ensure timely monitoring during pregnancy.
