Sokvin Vann found herself stuck in a rut almost four years ago. Encouraged by her brother, she turned to her passion for K-pop and BTS, creating the BTS Army Toronto fan club. Despite facing personal tragedy with her brother’s passing soon after starting the club, Vann continued to build a strong community that organizes events, giveaways, fundraisers, and supports local Korean businesses.
With BTS set to return to Toronto after more than a decade, Vann, alongside her son Jordan and a dedicated team of about 10 people, is preparing for the highly anticipated concerts at Rogers Stadium. The fan club has become a hub for fostering friendships and connections through a shared love for the South Korean band.

As part of their Arirang World Tour, BTS will be performing sold-out shows at Rogers Stadium on Saturday and Sunday, entertaining around 100,000 fans over two nights with hits like “Swim,” “Permission to Dance,” and “Butter.”
The BTS Army is known for its passionate fandom, characterized by deep knowledge of the group’s history, members, and music catalog, using terms like “army” and “bias” to express their preferences.
Toronto Welcomes BTS on World Tour
Vann attributes fans’ loyalty to BTS’s meaningful music that delves into themes like mental health, self-love, and personal growth. She praises the band’s commitment to creating impactful music that resonates with listeners on a profound level.
Before embarking on this tour, BTS members fulfilled mandatory military service, marking a brief hiatus for the group. The Toronto stop is the only Canadian leg of their global tour, spanning 88 shows across 34 cities in 23 countries until March 2027.
Since their debut in 2013, BTS has risen to global stardom, with highlights including their chart-topping English track “Dynamite” in 2020. K-pop’s popularity continues to surge in North America, evident in achievements like the Oscar-winning film “KPop Demon Hunters” and its hit song “Golden.”
