Ariana Grande has once again criticized the Trump administration for using her music on social media. This time, the Team Trump account included her song “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)” in a TikTok post that tagged the Grammy-winning artist. The post featured clips of President Trump walking up to a podium, with text from Grande’s 2024 track overlaid on the video. Grande responded in the comments, insisting that her music should not be used and calling out the inaccuracies in the post.
This incident follows Grande’s previous objection in mid-June when her song “Bye” was used in a TikTok video related to immigration policy. Numerous artists, including Taylor Swift and ABBA, have also voiced their disapproval of the Trump team using their music for promotional purposes. Despite the availability of licensing packages for using songs legally, some artists have chosen to opt out due to personal reasons or have taken legal action to have their music removed from Trump’s social media posts.
