A British traveler recounted an incident at the airport where she was allegedly instructed to remove her jacket before boarding the plane due to a disagreement over hand luggage. The traveler was on her way from London Gatwick to Düsseldorf, Germany, with easyJet for a brief five-day vacation. Opting for an under-the-seat cabin bag to save money for her short trip, she found herself in a dispute with easyJet staff at the boarding gate.
According to the traveler’s TikTok video, she had to demonstrate that her cabin bag met the size requirements. After confirming this, a staff member raised an issue with the bag not being zipped up, prompting her to redo the process. Additionally, the traveler was informed that her duty-free items from Boots had to fit inside her hand luggage, leading to a disagreement with the staff.
The traveler expressed frustration in the viral TikTok video, which garnered millions of views, detailing how she had to rearrange her belongings multiple times to accommodate the duty-free items. Despite complying with the staff’s instructions, she was still asked to unzip her jacket, causing further tension between her and the easyJet employee.
Eventually, the traveler managed to board the plane after multiple checks and directives from the staff. Reflecting on the experience with fellow passengers, she shared her disbelief at being asked to remove her jacket. In response to the incident, easyJet issued an apology and offered a gesture of goodwill to the traveler.
