Conor McGregor has expressed approval for the UFC’s upcoming event at the White House, even though he is not currently slated to participate. Initially rumored to headline on President Donald Trump’s property against Michael Chandler on June 14, McGregor is now expected to compete the following month. UFC CEO Dana White recently unveiled the White House card, featuring Ilia Topuria defending his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje in the main event.
In a surprising move, Alex Pereira is set to step up to the heavyweight division to face Ciryl Gane for the interim belt in the co-main event. Despite not being part of the lineup, McGregor shared his enthusiasm for the event by posting a photo of the card on social media with the caption “love it,” later describing it as “a great card.”
Earlier, the former dual-weight world champion disclosed that he was still awaiting confirmation of his return to the octagon. McGregor had been anticipating a showdown with Chandler at the White House, expressing eagerness for the matchup. However, plans seem to have shifted, with a potential slot for McGregor during International Fight Week being considered.
McGregor also hinted at his return to the welterweight division, emphasizing his readiness to accept any opponent offered. As negotiations continue, McGregor remains hopeful for a favorable offer as his manager engages in discussions in Las Vegas.
