Tiger Woods’ former spouse, Elin Nordegren, has expressed worry about him following his recent arrest on suspicion of driving while impaired. The renowned American golf player was apprehended and transported to a police facility after his Land Rover overturned in Florida on Friday.
The 50-year-old has been granted bail but faces charges of property damage and refusal to comply with a lawful test. Although no injuries were reported, Woods had to exit the vehicle through the passenger side as it had flipped onto its side.
According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, the 15-time Major champion exhibited signs of impairment and declined to provide a urine sample. Reports suggest that Woods faced reprimand from his current partner, Vanessa Trump, while his ex-wife Nordegren is also troubled by this recent driving mishap.
A source revealed, “The children have a close bond with Tiger, so naturally Elin is concerned too. She wants him to recover well. Both kids adore spending time with their father. Elin is worried about his involvement in another car accident and subsequent arrest.”
Woods had a previous incident in 2009 involving sleeping pills in his system. In 2017, he was arrested for DUI after being found asleep at the wheel, which he attributed to an unexpected reaction to prescribed medication.
In 2021, Woods survived a high-speed crash near Los Angeles, sustaining severe leg and ankle injuries. He mentioned that surgeons had contemplated amputation due to the extent of the injuries.
“The recovery following the 2021 California crash was extremely challenging,” the source added. “Elin simply wants him to prioritize his well-being and be there for the children.”
Woods and Nordegren, a Swedish model, ended their marriage in 2010 and have two children together, Sam, 18, and Charlie, 17. Currently, Woods is in a relationship with Vanessa Trump, who was previously married to Donald Trump Jr. from 2005 to 2018.
Upon learning about Woods’ most recent crash, his girlfriend expressed disappointment and concern, emphasizing the need for him to address the situation promptly. She made it clear that unless things improve, she may not continue the relationship.
“This is a serious message from a concerned girlfriend setting clear boundaries and urging him to take immediate action,” the source continued. “He is deeply remorseful, seeking a resolution, and feeling embarrassed and mortified by the situation.
