“Kuwait International Airport Engulfed in Flames After Drone Attack”

Date:

An intense fire engulfed Kuwait International Airport due to drone attacks on fuel tanks. Video footage captures firefighters battling the flames and contending with thick black smoke on Saturday (March 28).

The assault on Kuwait International Airport targeted fuel tanks and the radar system, as reported by state news agency KUNA. The Kuwait Army’s X feed released a video showcasing the extensive efforts to extinguish the fire.

Commercial passenger traffic at PKWI remains suspended, with no incoming or outgoing flights, due to significant structural damage caused by prior drone attacks.

A statement indicated the Kuwaiti Army Fire Department’s support in combating the fire resulting from the malicious attack on the airport’s fuel tanks.

Authorities revealed that 15 Iranian drones had been launched at Kuwait within the last 24 hours. Tehran’s actions are perceived as retaliation against Gulf states like Kuwait for their association with the US military.

Iran cites the strikes as responses to military activities by Israel and the US. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Earlier, the Public Authority of Civil Aviation (PACA) announced that drones targeted a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, resulting in a fire at the location.

Abdullah Al-Rajhi, the official spokesperson, confirmed to KUNA that initial assessments indicated material damage with no casualties reported.
