The discussion between Trump and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte at the White House indicated the president’s disappointment with U.S. allies. Despite the tensions, Rutte described their meeting as candid and friendly. This meeting occurred amidst a temporary ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran, signaling progress in the Strait of Hormuz reopening, a critical waterway controlling a significant portion of global oil supply.
