“Players Disappointed as People’s Postcode Lottery Raises Ticket Price Again”

Date:

The cost of People’s Postcode Lottery tickets has been increased once again, much to the disappointment of players. The monthly subscription price has gone up from £12.25 to £12.50, marking the third price hike by the lottery. Previously, the price was raised from £12 to £12.25 just last year, following an increase from £10 to £12 in 2023. Upset players have voiced their discontent on TrustPilot, expressing frustration over the continuous price rises.

One individual on TrustPilot commented, “YET ANOTHER PRICE INCREASE. How much is enough?” Another player expressed dissatisfaction, stating, “Not impressed with the price constantly creeping up; it’ll be £13 soon. It’s not enjoyable to play anymore; it feels more like a disappointing drain each month.”

In response to the complaints, People’s Postcode Lottery mentioned that the upcoming 25p increase would lead to the largest prize pool ever this year, offering more opportunities for players across various draws. The price adjustment is set to take effect for the April 2026 draw and is already reflected on the lottery’s website.

People’s Postcode Lottery operates based on players’ postcodes, participating in daily, weekly, and monthly draws with prizes such as daily £1,000 wins for 20 postcodes, a shared £1 million Saturday prize, and monthly prizes exceeding £250,000. It is possible for multiple individuals on the same street to win in the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Since its establishment in 2005, People’s Postcode Lottery has raised over £1 billion for numerous charities, with millions of players contributing to this cause. The Mirror recently reported a heartwarming story of a woman, Gail Wood, who discovered she had won £144,000 from the lottery while recovering from major surgery. Gail described the win as life-changing, as she had initially feared she might not survive the surgery. Upon receiving the news of her win, she was overwhelmed with joy and disbelief at her unexpected fortune.
