The hit show The Traitors is making a return with a fresh lineup of stars all set to dive into the murder mystery drama. The eagerly awaited announcement of the cast for the fifth season took place on Friday, assembling a mix of celebrities and reality TV personalities in the castle with one rule in mind: trust no one.
Among the lineup for this season are singer Cody Simpson, Whitney Leavitt from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Gizelle Bryant from The Real Housewives, and the multi-talented actor and singer Kristin Chenoweth. There’s even a Canadian participant in the mix.
The premise of the show involves host Alan Cumming assigning a select few players as traitors, while the rest are considered faithful. Each week, the traitors plot in secret to eliminate one faithful member. Subsequently, the group gathers to discuss, accuse, and strategize in the hopes of voting out a traitor.
Having recently secured a renewal for three more seasons, the show achieved a remarkable feat at the 76th Emmy Awards by winning in all seven categories it was nominated for, including outstanding reality competition program and outstanding host for Cumming.
The newly unveiled cast includes Bianca Del Rio from RuPaul’s Drag Race, Canadian content creator Boman Martinez-Reid, Bronwyn Newport from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Casey Wilson from The Great American Baking Show, and Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim, among others.
Fans of the show wasted no time in expressing their excitement and opinions on social media platforms, with one user highlighting the eclectic mix of celebrities and another expressing admiration for the unpredictability of the cast selection each season. Another fan humorously remarked on the diverse range of celebrities featured in the show.
