A significant enhancement has just been introduced to the entertainment options for all Freeview households. A new channel, previously exclusive to premium TV services like Sky and Virgin Media, has now been launched this week, providing Freeview enthusiasts with access to TLC. TLC is renowned for its reality shows like Dr Pimple Popper and Say Yes To The Dress, but it is now broadening its content offerings to include sitcoms and blockbuster movies.
Following this update, Freeview viewers can enjoy popular programs such as The Big Bang Theory, Mock the Week, and Young Sheldon. Additionally, movie enthusiasts can anticipate blockbuster titles like Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Freeview has announced that TLC is currently available on channel 12, although some households may need to retune their devices to access it. The update will also result in a minor channel reorganization, with Quest relocating from Ch12 to Ch17 to accommodate TLC, and Really shifting from Ch17 to Ch44.
However, not all news is positive, as Freeview has confirmed the closure of HGTV, leading to the removal of programs such as My Lottery Dream Home, Celebrity IOU, and Building Alaska from the platform. Other channels being discontinued include HGTV, God TV, and India Today.
The recent changes are as follows:
**New Channels:**
– TLC – Ch12
– TLC+1 – Ch99
**Channel Moves:**
– Quest – Ch17
– Really – Ch44
**Channel Closure:**
– HGTV
– God TV
– India Today
