Tragedy struck a couple, Mariano Robles, 28, and Solana Albornoz, 32, who were found dead in their car after being caught in a severe storm in Argentina. The couple, who had just left a wedding celebration at the SMATA complex in Tafi Viejo, had informed their nanny that they were waiting for the rain to stop before heading home to their two young children. Unfortunately, a flash flood swept their car away, leading to their tragic demise.
The couple left the wedding venue early in the morning on April 5 but never made it back home. Concerned family members and friends raised the alarm on social media, seeking information on their whereabouts. It was later discovered that their vehicle had been dragged into an irrigation canal by the flood, with the pair trapped inside.
The car was found overturned in the canal, and emergency responders recovered Mariano and Solana’s bodies from the wreckage. Mariano, a civil servant, and Solana, who worked at a state-run bank, were known for their dedication to their children, rarely spending time away from them.
Their nanny, who was caring for the children that night, expressed surprise at their delay, as the couple usually returned home early. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, as the community mourns the loss of the couple and a 12-year-old boy who also perished in the same storm.
