“Affordable Easter Escapes: Top European Destinations Revealed”

To assist travelers in booking their Easter getaway, Which? conducted a comparison of over 3,000 package holidays across Europe during the busy travel period. The study revealed the most cost-effective options for a seven-night stay, including flights and accommodations, in several beautiful cities.

Topping the list as the most affordable escape is the resort town of Marmaris on the Turkish Riviera, also known as the ‘Turquoise Coast’. Offering warm temperatures reaching up to 25C in April and stunning golden-sand beaches, Marmaris averages around £594 per person for a seven-night package, making it a budget-friendly alternative to popular destinations like Paris.

Following closely is Krakow, Poland, known for its captivating medieval architecture, bustling market square, and iconic landmarks such as Wawel Castle and the Cathedral. A seven-night getaway to Krakow costs approximately £628 per person, providing a mix of history and charm at a reasonable price.

For a combination of city exploration and beach relaxation, Albufeira in the southern Algarve region of Portugal presents a picturesque setting with its sandy beaches, Old Town ambiance, and pleasant weather around 19C during Easter. A trip to Albufeira can be enjoyed for about £638 per person.

The Canary Islands, particularly Las Palmas in Gran Canaria, offer a sunny retreat at a reasonable cost of around £671 per person for a seven-night stay. With its historic allure, scenic beaches, and mild climate of 21C in April, Las Palmas is an attractive choice for holidaymakers.

Benidorm, situated on Spain’s Costa Blanca, stands out for its affordability, vibrant nightlife, and sunny weather, averaging around 19C in April. A week-long stay in Benidorm costs about £682 per person, making it an enticing option for those seeking a lively beach getaway.

Prague, often associated with its beer culture and historical landmarks like Prague Castle and Charles Bridge, offers a unique blend of architectural wonders and cultural experiences. A package holiday to Prague comes at an average cost of £753 per person for a seven-night stay, complemented by pleasant temperatures of 14C.

Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is characterized by its scenic Danube River, grand Parliament Building, and renowned thermal baths. With an expected temperature of 17C in April, Budapest offers a vibrant city experience at an average cost of around £770 per person for a week-long holiday.

Porto, a charming city along the Douro River in Portugal, is a delightful destination with its colorful streets, historic sites, and renowned port wine cellars. A seven-night package holiday in Porto is priced at approximately £780 per person, providing a cultural and gastronomic experience in a scenic setting.

Milan, known for its fashion scene and architectural wonders like the Duomo di Milano, offers a sophisticated urban experience with temperatures around 17C during Easter. A week in Milan costs about £795 per person, making it an elegant and cultural city break.

Dubrovnik, referred to as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, boasts ancient city walls, charming streets, and stunning coastal views. Despite cooler temperatures of 14C in Easter, a package holiday to Dubrovnik can be enjoyed for around £796 per person, offering a mix of history and natural beauty.

These affordable European destinations provide a range of experiences for travelers looking to escape during Easter, catering to various interests and budgets.
