Apple has rolled out a significant update for iPhone users with the release of iOS 26.1. This latest operating system upgrade introduces nine major changes. To download the update, simply navigate to General > Settings > Software Update on your device.
One of the key features of iOS 26.1 is the customization option for the Liquid Glass appearance introduced in Apple’s previous iOS 26 release. Users now have the choice between the default clear look or a new tinted style for apps, folders, and menus displayed on the screen.
In addition to the visual changes, the update includes enhancements such as expanded language support for Live Translation on AirPods, a new Camera setting to toggle Lock Screen swipe access to the Camera, and improved FaceTime audio quality in low-bandwidth conditions.
iOS 26.1 also brings bug fixes and security updates, making it essential to install. Due to its large size of over 14GB, it is recommended to download the update while connected to a Wi-Fi network.
The full list of changes in iOS 26.1 includes options to adjust the Liquid Glass setting, Live Translation support for additional languages with AirPods, new gestures for Apple Music MiniPlayer, enhanced FaceTime audio quality, and improved communication safety features.
Compatible devices for iOS 26.1 include iPhone models ranging from iPhone 11 to the latest iPhone 15 series, as well as iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation).
