“Anthony Joshua in Car Accident: Two Lives Lost”

Date:

The governments of Ogun and Lagos States have issued a joint statement concerning the recent car accident involving Anthony Joshua in Nigeria. The former heavyweight champion sustained minor injuries in a collision that tragically resulted in the loss of two lives.

According to the statement, Anthony Joshua was involved in a road traffic accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway while traveling with a group of four individuals. The vehicle they were in collided with a stationary truck, leading to the fatalities. The governments expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for their strength during this challenging time.

Following the incident, Anthony Joshua and another passenger were promptly taken to a specialized medical facility in Lagos. Medical assessments confirmed that both individuals are in stable condition and do not require immediate medical intervention. A dedicated medical team is overseeing their care, with Anthony Joshua maintaining consciousness and staying in touch with his family.

Authorities from Ogun and Lagos States are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the best medical attention for those affected. Investigations into the accident are underway to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.

The public’s concern is appreciated, with a request made for privacy for Anthony Joshua and his family at this time. The statement was jointly signed by Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser on Media to the Governor of Ogun State, and Gbenga Omotoso, Commissioner for Information and Strategy for Lagos State.

The car crash involved a black Lexus Jeep driven by Joshua colliding with a stationary lorry on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. The Federal Road Safety Corps of Nigeria reported that two vehicles were involved, resulting in two fatalities, one injury, and two individuals escaping unharmed. The injured victim received medical attention, while the deceased were taken to the Livewell Morgue, Ajaka, Sagamu for further procedures.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the Lexus Jeep, potentially exceeding the speed limit, lost control during an overtaking maneuver and collided with the parked truck by the roadside.
