“TV Licence Cost Increases to £180 in April”

Date:

The cost of a TV licence is increasing to £180 from April. To watch or record live TV, or view content on BBC iPlayer, a TV licence is required. If you only stream shows on platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, ITVX, Disney Plus, YouTube, All 4, or My5, without using BBC iPlayer, you do not need a TV licence.

However, if you watch live shows on these services, a TV licence is necessary. Failure to have a TV licence while watching programmes that demand it could result in a fine of up to £1,000. If you no longer require your TV licence with at least one month remaining, you may qualify for a refund.

Refunds are also available for those eligible for over 75 or blind concessions. Remember, failure to comply with TV licensing regulations could lead to a fine of up to £1,000.
