“Escape to Paradise: Win Custodianship of Swedish Islands!”

Date:

Have you ever imagined owning your personal secluded island where you can escape the daily grind, enjoy the peaceful sounds of waves lapping against the shore, take leisurely walks on sandy beaches at sunset, and revel in unspoiled natural beauty? Your dream could come true.

Visit Sweden is offering a rare chance for UK travelers to win the custodianship of five private islands for a whole year. This unique opportunity grants exclusive access to your very own island away from tourist crowds and popular holiday destinations, allowing you to embrace the title of ‘Island Custodian’ for 365 days.

Sweden, known for its vast array of over 267,000 islands set amidst serene landscapes, is presenting this enticing offer. Five pristine and unspoiled islands are up for grabs in this Scandinavian country, and all it takes is submitting a video explaining why you are deserving of your own Swedish island.

However, there’s a responsibility attached to this tempting opportunity as the winner will have to take care of the island during their tenure. While basking in the island’s beauty and enjoying the summer sun, ensuring the upkeep of this secluded paradise will be your duty.

Susanne Andersson, CEO at Visit Sweden, expressed, “Sweden boasts the highest number of islands globally, and we want to offer people the chance to experience the purest form of luxury: the tranquility and serenity of nature on their private island.”

This initiative, in collaboration with the National Property Board, which oversees state-owned cultural heritage sites, highlights the desirability of the five available islands, described as “beautifully secluded” yet conveniently located near essential amenities, ensuring a fulfilling once-in-a-lifetime retreat.

Detailing the options, Visit Sweden mentioned:

One of the islands, Medbadan, shaped by the last ice age, offers brackish water for swimming or leisurely paddling amidst skerries. Storberget, another remote island, sculpted by the open sea and dubbed “The big mountain,” is also available for occupancy.

Furthermore, the woodland island of Tjuvholmen features lighter birch and alder patches near the water, providing a peaceful retreat with sounds of gulls and sea eagles. Marsten is a fishing enthusiast’s paradise with clear waters, while the lively Skrea strand beach is nearby for a more vibrant atmosphere.

Susanne added, “If you miss out on these islands, fret not. Sweden offers numerous other islands for everyone to relish. From tranquil lakes to expansive coastlines, there’s an island paradise awaiting all.”

Applications are currently open, and the deadline for submission is April 17, 2026. For additional details and guidelines on creating your submission video, please visit the <a aria-label="Visit Sweden website.Link opens in a new tab."
