“Tragic Stabbing: Four Children Killed at Uganda Preschool”

Date:

Four children were tragically stabbed and killed at a preschool in Uganda, according to the police. The incident occurred at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School in Kampala’s Makindye Division, where a girl and three boys lost their lives. A 34-year-old suspect has been apprehended, though the motive behind the killings remains under investigation.

The perpetrator gained entry to the school by posing as a parent, initially engaging with an administrator before locking a gate and launching the attack on the children. Following the alarm raised by teachers, the suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended by a security guard from a nearby church.

Authorities urge anyone with information on the suspect to come forward to assist the ongoing investigation, as stated by Inspector General of Police Abas Byakagaba. Video footage from a local broadcaster captured emotional scenes of parents rushing to the school after the tragic event. Police had to intervene by firing warning shots to disperse an angry crowd near the school, aiming to take justice into their own hands.

Kampala Metropolitan spokesperson Rachael Kawala mentioned that the suspect had visited the school in the days leading up to the incident, seeking admission for his child. After a confrontation with the school administrator and paying the admission fee, he proceeded to the classroom and carried out the fatal stabbings. The Uganda Police Force confirmed the incident and the suspect’s arrest, promising further updates as the investigation progresses.
