LIV Golf standout Tyrrell Hatton expressed his frustration with the course after facing an early setback in his final round at the Masters on Sunday. Hatton, who had started the day at 4-under following a level par performance on Saturday and a remarkable 66 on Friday, began positively with a birdie on the second hole but then dropped a shot on the 251-yard par-3 fourth hole.
The English golfer’s tee shot ended up just off the green, setting up what should have been a routine two-putt. However, after missing his first attempt by about three feet, Hatton made a critical error with his putt hitting the lip of the cup. This led to visible frustration from the 34-year-old known for occasional outbursts, with head shakes and muttered words before eventually sinking the putt on his fourth try.
Hatton’s exasperation continued as he vented, “This place is frustrating.” In a surprising turn of events, Wyndham Clark also let out an expletive-laden outburst shortly after, following a similar mistake on the course.
Despite his early struggles, Hatton’s round showed signs of improvement with an eagle on the seventh hole and a birdie on the eighth. However, he wasn’t the only one facing challenges on the challenging Augusta National course. His LIV Golf teammate Jon Rahm also encountered difficulties, finishing the tournament 1-over par, mentioning that he had never seen the course playing as firm as it did this time.
As Hatton concluded his round at -10, taking the clubhouse lead, he watched as other top golfers like Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose continued their games. The Masters coverage is set to begin on April 6, with fans having the opportunity to watch it live through Sky’s Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle, offering a wide range of channels and streaming services.
