Korean pop group BTS is facing criticism from some of their fans for their association with American singer Chris Brown. Two BTS members, J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok) and RM (Kim Nam-joon), were photographed with Brown at his show in Toronto.
The controversial singer, known for his criminal record and various assault charges, has a history of legal troubles dating back to 2009 when he pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna. Brown has faced multiple assault charges and even served jail time in 2014. Recently, he pleaded guilty to an assault charge in a London nightclub incident.
The photos and videos of J-Hope and RM with Brown at the concert have sparked mixed reactions among BTS’s fans, known as the ARMY. While some fans expressed disappointment and disapproval of the members’ association with Brown, others defended them, suggesting that they might have been at the show to see Usher, who co-headlined the event.
The debate on social media has highlighted the complexities of separating artists’ personal actions from their work. Some fans emphasized the importance of understanding the context and motives behind the members’ attendance at the show before passing judgment. BTS representatives have not commented on the issue yet.
