CBC has secured a significant increase in its coverage of Canadian curling through a fresh five-year broadcast deal that will bring additional Grand Slam of Curling playoff matches and all Rock League games to its platforms. The agreement with The Curling Group, announced on Thursday, will result in over 300 hours of combined television content on CBC and Sportsnet during the 2026-27 season.
A notable development for CBC is its involvement with Rock League. The professional league, which debuted in April, is set to return to CBC in January 2027, with every game accessible on CBC television and CBC Gem. Additionally, selected games will be broadcasted on Radio-Canada’s ICI TOU.TV and Sportsnet on Thursdays and Fridays.
Rock League showcases six mixed-gender franchises with curlers from various countries. Its upcoming season, featuring events on select weekends in January and April, will have games scheduled from Thursday to Sunday.
In addition to its Rock League coverage, CBC will play a more significant role in the Grand Slam of Curling. Sportsnet remains the primary broadcaster for all five Grand Slam events commencing in October, airing three draws daily from Tuesday to Friday. On Saturdays, CBC and CBC Gem will team up with Sportsnet+ for playoff coverage, while Sportsnet will broadcast the championship finals on Sundays, with CBC also featuring select finals throughout the season. Meanwhile, the morning round-robin draws and tiebreakers from Tuesday to Saturday will be streamed on Rock Channel.
The new agreement further solidifies CBC’s extensive curling legacy and amplifies its presence during major Canadian curling events. Chris Wilson, CBC’s executive director of sports and Olympics, expressed enthusiasm about sharing another Rock League season with viewers nationwide.

Over the next five years, Canadian viewers can anticipate enhanced coverage options, from Grand Slam playoff weekends to the upcoming second season of Rock League on CBC.
