Amazon is rolling out a significant upgrade for select Fire TV Stick models to enhance user experience. The update includes a fresh new look, featuring a modern interface with updated typography, redesigned color gradients, and improved homescreen layouts. Users can expect faster navigation, with performance enhancements of up to 30 percent promised by Amazon.
In addition to visual and speed improvements, users will now be able to pin up to 20 apps on the home screen, a substantial increase from the previous limit of six. Access to Games, Art & Photos, and the Ambient Experience has been made more convenient through the Menu button on the remote.
A new shortcut panel has been added, accessible by long-pressing the Home button, providing quick access to essential Fire TV controls like audio and display settings. The update also introduces Alexa+, Amazon’s upgraded assistant, set to launch in the UK later this year to enhance content discovery.
Alongside the Fire TV Stick update, Amazon is revamping the Fire TV mobile app to allow users to browse content, manage watchlists, and play titles directly on their TVs. The redesigned app will serve as a second screen, enabling users to explore new shows and add recommendations to watchlists while on the go.
The major update will initially roll out in the U.S., with plans to expand to other regions throughout the year. The new Fire TV upgrade will be available for the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen), and Fire TV Omni Mini-LED Series in the U.S., with further expansion to more devices and countries, including the latest Fire TV 4K streaming media players, scheduled for later this spring.
