“Freeview Users Urged to Retune Amid TV Channel Lineup Changes”

Date:

Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and perform a retune on their devices as the UK TV platform has initiated an update. This update introduces several modifications to the channel lineup and TV guide. According to Freeview, certain broadcasters are implementing changes this week, necessitating a retune to ensure that channels and the TV guide remain current.

The update includes four key changes. Firstly, three existing channels have been rebranded with new names, which will now be visible in the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) has been renamed That’s 20th Century, offering music from previous decades and featuring iconic shows such as Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) is now known as That’s 20th Century MCR, and That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) has been simplified to That’s Classics.

In addition to the rebrands, a new channel called That’s Entertainment is set to launch on Channel 75. Although program listings for this service are not widely available yet, more details are expected to be released soon. Freeview emphasizes that these updates are part of ongoing adjustments as broadcasters continuously refine their offerings to keep content fresh and diverse.

Freeview users are encouraged to check for these changes on their TV planner. If updates are not visible, a retune may be necessary by following these steps: press the menu button on the remote, navigate to settings or installation, enter the PIN if prompted (usually 1234 or 0000), select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune,” confirm the deletion of existing channels, and allow the device to automatically search for and save the updated channels.

While Freeview updates occur regularly, this particular update is significant, making it advisable for users to retune promptly.
