Checked luggage options of 10kg, 20kg, and 23kg are also available for those who prefer to check their belongings.
Despite ample warnings, a family recently faced a £400 penalty at the airport for failing to adhere to the baggage dimensions. According to a post on Which? Travel’s Facebook page, they incurred the charge on their return flight to the UK due to non-compliant bags.
In response to such incidents, Ryanair emphasized the importance of complying with baggage size restrictions to avoid hefty fees. The airline clarified that bags must fit within the specified dimensions, as verified by their sizers, to avoid additional charges.
To prevent extra costs while flying with Ryanair, travelers are advised by Which? to ensure their bags fit within the designated measurements. Gate crew routinely check bags for compliance, and oversized items may result in additional charges or forced check-in.
It is essential to measure your packed bag accurately, accounting for potential bulkiness when full, including wheels and handles in the measurements. Ryanair’s website cautions passengers against bringing oversize bags to the boarding gate, outlining fees and procedures for non-compliant luggage.
