“Survivors Recount Terrifying Plane Landing in Prince George”

Date:

Survivors of a harrowing plane landing emergency in Prince George, B.C., which tragically resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries, are recounting their experiences.

Jaime Pawliuk was on his way to work on Thursday afternoon when he witnessed the plane heading straight towards him. He recounted the terrifying moment when the aircraft was suddenly upon him, forcing him to swerve into a ditch. Unfortunately, he could only move a short distance before the wing of the plane ripped the top of his vehicle off, showering him with glass. Despite sustaining minor cuts on his hands and having glass stuck in his hair, he managed to escape the ordeal.

The incident involved a Beech King Air 200 aircraft, a twin-engine plane, making an emergency landing just before 2:30 p.m. PT on Foothills Boulevard, a busy four-lane road connecting various residential areas in Prince George.

While police confirmed at least two vehicles were impacted, eyewitnesses and images suggest more were affected. Pawliuk estimated that between three to five vehicles were directly damaged, forcing him and others to abandon their cars at the scene pending further investigation.

Video footage from inside the plane revealed that there were six passengers and two pilots onboard during the emergency landing. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the occupants of the contracted plane.

However, authorities disclosed that ten individuals were evaluated for injuries, with two individuals transported to the hospital in stable condition. Tragically, one person, believed to be from one of the vehicles struck by the plane, succumbed to the incident.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) stated that the Transportation Safety Board has assumed control of the investigation.
