Hosted by Mariska Hargitay, the event recognized excellence in television, with “Widow’s Bay” leading the way by winning a record-breaking 14 Emmys, including Outstanding Comedy Series and acting accolades for Matthew Rhys, Stephen Root, and Kate O’Flynn. “The Pitt” secured the award for Outstanding Drama Series for the second consecutive year, while “DTF St. Louis” took home the honors for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.
Noteworthy wins included Noah Wyle for lead actor in a drama, Rhea Seehorn for lead actress in a drama, and Jean Smart for lead actress in a comedy, marking her fifth consecutive victory in the category. Matthew Rhys had a standout night, also winning lead actor in a limited series or movie. The ceremony featured a tribute to the late Dolly Parton led by Reba McEntire, a performance of “Appalachian Memories,” and an in memoriam segment with Noah Kahan singing “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Stars from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Charlie’s Angels” also made special appearances to mark anniversaries of their respective shows.
