Apple has introduced new MacBook and iPad models shortly after the release of the iPhone 17. The tech giant unveiled the MacBook Pro M5 and iPad Pro M5 on October 22, both powered by Apple’s latest M5 chip for enhanced speed, power, and AI performance. These devices are now available for purchase directly from Apple and Amazon.
The MacBook Pro M5 with 512GB storage starts at £1,599, while the 11” iPad Pro M5 and 13” iPad Pro M5 are priced at £999 and £1,299, respectively. These products belong to Apple’s premium Pro range, attracting shoppers to consider monthly payment options offered by Sky Mobile and O2 to manage the costs effectively, starting as low as 90p per day.
Sky offers the 11” iPad Pro M5 starting at £27 per month, rising to £34 for the 13” iPad Pro M5, with a limited 100MB data allowance. Similarly, the £35 monthly plan for the MacBook Pro M5 includes a £7 upfront cost. Users intending to use their devices predominantly on WiFi may find these plans suitable, but those requiring mobile connectivity might opt for a Sky eSIM plan ranging from 1GB to unlimited data.
It is important to note that most service providers implement yearly price increases tied to inflation, impacting the overall cost for customers. EE’s iPad Pro plans, although seemingly expensive upfront, offer competitive pricing options. For instance, the 11” iPad Pro M5 is available for £89.92 with a 12-month plan, while the 13” iPad Pro M5 costs £112.42 on the same terms.
O2 provides various pre-built plans for both iPad Pro models, starting at £39.20 per month for the 11” iPad Pro M5 and £45.60 per month for the 13” iPad Pro M5, each with different data allowances and inclusive extras like Disney+ or Amazon Prime for a limited period.
These contracts typically span 48 months, separating the airtime plan and device plan after 24 months. This setup allows customers the flexibility to adjust their plans or cancel the airtime segment after two years, potentially reducing costs for those not requiring mobile data services.
