“Marks & Spencer Launches Cash Rewards in Revamped Sparks Program”

Date:

Marks & Spencer has unveiled a revamped Sparks loyalty program, introducing cash discounts for customers. The new scheme allows shoppers to accrue cash rewards in their digital Sparks wallet, accessible through the M&S app, by making purchases in specific product categories. These offers will be updated weekly to align with individual shopping habits.

Examples of potential rewards include earning £10 in the Sparks wallet after spending £50 on fashion, home, and beauty products, or receiving £6 back for a £30 nightwear purchase. Other incentives consist of £5 credited to the wallet for a £35 food expenditure, or £1 for buying £10 worth of fresh fruit.

In addition to individual rewards, customers can also earn cash back for purchasing certain items together, like receiving £5 back when buying a bra and matching knickers. Furthermore, shoppers will be incentivized to explore new departments by earning rewards for purchases in unfamiliar sections.

Marks & Spencer has also announced a strategic partnership with Virgin Red to offer additional opportunities to boost the Sparks wallet. Examples of these joint rewards include £130 added to the wallet for booking a Virgin Atlantic Holiday and £80 cashback for switching to Virgin Media. To access these benefits, customers need to link their Virgin Red account with their Sparks membership via the M&S app.

Despite the updates, the retailer has assured customers that some existing Sparks perks will remain, such as complimentary birthday treats, coffee stamps for free drinks after six purchases, exclusive currency rates, and discounts on insurance policies.

Sharry Cramond, Marketing Director of Fashion, Home & Beauty and Loyalty at Marks & Spencer, expressed enthusiasm about the new Sparks program, emphasizing its focus on personalized offers and tangible cash rewards tailored to customer preferences. The enhanced loyalty scheme aims to empower customers with greater control over their rewards and shopping experiences, while retaining beloved features like free treats and charity donations in a more personalized and flexible format.
