Some Sky customers are facing a frustrating bug impacting the widely used ITVX app. The glitch started recently, with users reporting that their viewing experience is being disrupted by a problem that abruptly jumps to the end of programs at random moments. This means that viewers could be halfway through a show and suddenly find themselves at the credits without using the fast-forward feature on their remote control.
Expressing their concerns on Sky’s forum page, a user named Dazzasky mentioned, “ITV Player is skipping ahead randomly, usually to the end of the episode, which is proving quite challenging… this has been occurring for the past 4 or 5 days.” Another user named Dawn added, “Is anyone else experiencing difficulties watching ITVX programs in the last 3 days? I’m watching, then suddenly it jumps to the end unexpectedly, showing as watched. This usually happens at the beginning of the program or right after an ad break.”
The issue seems to be affecting individuals using Sky’s online devices, such as Sky Stream boxes and Glass TVs. While it is uncertain if Sky Q is also impacted, most complaints are from users with devices connected via broadband rather than a satellite dish.
Although the cause of the problem remains unknown, a Sky representative named Kev has acknowledged the issue and assured users that the company is actively working on a solution. Kev stated, “Hi Everyone, Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention and for tagging us. We recognize the frustration this must be causing and have escalated the issue to our support teams. They will collaborate with ITV to resolve the problem. I will provide updates as soon as more information is available.”
Currently, users may have to endure the skipping problems, with hopes that a fix will be implemented soon. Mirror Online will provide updates on this matter as new developments arise.
