“Tesco Pharmacies: Your One-Stop Health Destination”

Date:

When it comes to taking care of our well-being, having extra assistance and guidance can be beneficial. Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK catering to more than half a million customers weekly, is committed to aiding individuals. They offer a convenient way for customers to collect prescriptions, utilize their wide range of healthcare services, and consult with their expert pharmacists while doing their routine shopping.

Many individuals find it challenging to prioritize essential health check-ups due to their hectic schedules. Seeking answers to health concerns online can often add to the stress when time is limited. “This is why we provide quick and accessible pharmacy services, health advice, and health products in our pharmacies for customers to access while they shop,” explains Tesco’s health and wellness category director, Tom Lye.

From flu vaccinations and weight management services to professional advice, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies serve as a one-stop destination. “A brief visit to our store can offer crucial reassurance or assistance to our customers,” notes Tom.

In addition to treating common ailments like sore throats and earaches, pharmacists can prescribe medications for conditions such as sinusitis and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service. This service eliminates the need to schedule an appointment with a GP, saving valuable time for customers.

For individuals dealing with long-term health issues, Tesco Pharmacists have undergone specialized training from reputable organizations like Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation. This training equips them to provide information, support, and guidance to reduce the risk of cancer, heart diseases, and type 2 diabetes. Customers can approach pharmacists wearing a Let’s Talk badge at the pharmacy counter for assistance.

“Our pharmacy teams are available to conduct quick and friendly walk-in blood pressure checks for customers concerned about their heart health,” mentions Tom. “A brief visit in-store can offer peace of mind or prompt early intervention if necessary.”

Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests for customers this year, demonstrating the significant impact of their services.

The benefits of in-store pharmacy services are not limited to customers alone. Tesco employees can also take advantage of the convenience offered by the pharmacies and other health services. “Our colleagues can access virtual GP appointments and receive additional support on various health aspects such as sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme,” adds Tom.
