“Tesco Pharmacies: Your One-Stop Health Destination”

Date:

When it comes to maintaining our well-being, sometimes we require additional assistance and guidance. Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies spread across the UK serving more than 500,000 customers weekly, is dedicated to supporting individuals. They offer a convenient way for customers to collect prescriptions, utilize their wide range of healthcare services, and engage with expert pharmacists while doing their regular shopping.

Amid busy schedules, many individuals find it challenging to prioritize essential health check-ups. Seeking answers to health concerns online can often be more stressful than comforting when time is limited. “This is why we provide efficient and accessible pharmacy services, health advice, and health products in our pharmacies for customers to utilize while shopping in-store,” explains Tom Lye, Tesco’s category director for health and wellness.

From flu vaccinations and vaccines to weight management services, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies are a comprehensive destination for friendly guidance. “A brief visit to the store can offer crucial reassurance or the assistance our customers require,” mentions Tom.

Moreover, pharmacists can help save time by prescribing treatments for common conditions such as sore throats, earaches, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eliminating the need to schedule an appointment with a GP.

For individuals dealing with long-term health concerns, Tesco Pharmacists are equipped to provide information and support after undergoing additional training from Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation. “When shopping at Tesco, customers can approach the pharmacy counter and request to speak with the pharmacist wearing a Let’s Talk badge,” suggests Tom.

“If you have inquiries regarding your heart health, our pharmacy teams are available for a quick, friendly walk-in blood pressure check – no appointment needed,” Tom further adds. “A brief visit to the store can offer peace of mind or prompt support if necessary.”

This year, Tesco Pharmacies have administered over 9,000 free blood pressure tests to customers, demonstrating the significant impact of this valuable service.

Not only do customers benefit from the services provided by in-store pharmacies, but Tesco colleagues also have access to the convenience of pharmacy support and other health services. “All colleagues can utilize virtual GP consultations and receive additional assistance on aspects like sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme,” Tom mentions.
