A young woman reportedly killed her partner by beheading him after alleging that she caught him trying to harm her young son in their residence. Police took into custody 24-year-old Paula Ellen Neves da Silva in connection to the death of her 32-year-old boyfriend, Daniel dos Santos. The incident occurred in their apartment in Itaquaquecetuba, Brazil, where the woman lived with her three- and six-year-old children.
Authorities mentioned that the couple, along with a friend, had been drinking alcohol and using drugs earlier that evening. The friend left the premises approximately 90 minutes before the fatal incident. The woman claimed that she saw her partner trying to harm her son while she pretended to be asleep on the living room floor. She then grabbed a knife and stabbed him when she witnessed the act.
Following a struggle, the man reportedly used a serrated knife to defend himself, causing an injury to the woman’s hand. After the altercation, the woman allegedly beheaded the victim and concealed his head in a backpack. She then moved the body to the bathroom, cleaned the crime scene partially, and washed off bloodstains from the sofa and floor.
The woman contacted her ex-husband, mother, and brother to inform them of the incident. Initially skeptical, her relatives believed her account after she shared photos and videos of the dismembered body. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the victim’s body in the bathroom with multiple stab wounds and his head in a backpack. The couple had been in a relationship for about two months, according to reports.
The woman was interrogated by Civil and Military Police and expressed no remorse, stating that she would repeat her actions if given the chance. The case has been classified as aggravated homicide, procedural fraud, and concealment of a corpse. Investigations are ongoing, with law enforcement stating that there is currently insufficient evidence to support a self-defense argument. Prosecutors have requested her detention to be converted to preventive custody as the investigation progresses.
