Footage has surfaced showing Anthony Joshua exiting a vehicle that was involved in an accident resulting in the deaths of two individuals in Nigeria. The incident took place on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, where Joshua, the former heavyweight champion, was traveling in a Jeep on December 29. Reports indicate that the collision occurred when the Jeep struck a stationary truck. Joshua, who was seated in the back of the vehicle, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the accident, with police commissioner Lanre Ogunlowo overseeing the inquiry. Eyewitnesses at the scene provided assistance to those involved, including Joshua, who appeared to be in pain as he was helped out of the vehicle. According to reports, the accident occurred when the vehicle swerved into the stationary truck after a tire burst, causing the driver to lose control.
Eyewitnesses, such as Adeniyi Orojo, recounted the details of the incident to the media, stating that Joshua was seated in a Lexus SUV with three other occupants when the crash took place. Tragically, two individuals lost their lives in the collision. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, confirmed that Joshua was safe and en route to the hospital following the accident.
