“Lucky House-Sitter Enjoys Luxurious Scottish Highland Retreat”

Date:

A stroke of luck led a woman to house-sit for nearly a month at a luxurious estate in the Scottish Highlands without much responsibility. Nicole Miller, a 56-year-old from Newbury, Berkshire, enjoyed the breathtaking landscapes of the Highlands in February on a cost-free vacation. Her task was simply to oversee the grand manor estate in the absence of its owners.

Nicole, originally from Scotland, expressed her delight at the unexpected opportunity, feeling incredibly fortunate for the chance to experience a £3,000 holiday. The estate, nestled in the heart of the Highlands, featured a stunning manor house and two cottages. Nicole resided in an opulent one-story dwelling with spacious rooms and a grand hall.

Tasked with ensuring the security of the property while the owners were away, Nicole’s presence was all that was required. She marveled at the tranquility and natural beauty surrounding her, using the grand dining room as her makeshift office during the day and enjoying peaceful evenings with a good book in the secluded Kinlochmoidart location.

Despite the remote setting and the absence of human activity around, Nicole felt completely at ease and embraced the serenity. She made the most of her time by exploring the local area over the weekends, immersing herself in the rugged landscapes and visiting nearby historic castles and scenic spots like Sanna Beach.

Nicole, who runs Fast Response PFA Ltd, stumbled upon the house-sitting opportunity on LinkedIn, a chance occurrence that resonated with her love for nature and country living. Although initially surprised by the concept of house-sitting for estates, she found the experience enriching and a much-needed escape from the fast-paced world.

Through HouseSit Match, Nicole embarked on this unique adventure, cherishing the opportunity to slow down and appreciate the beauty of Scotland’s untouched landscapes. She emphasized the importance of taking a break from the hectic modern life and reconnecting with nature, expressing a desire to return to Scotland for a more extended stay in the future.
